DEREK G. RAYMOND is the Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas J. Felts.
Derek graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2016. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2013, receiving degrees in economics and political science.
Derek’s professional experience includes a summer clerkship with the Indiana Office of the Attorney General and a summer clerkship for the Honorable Marianne O. Battani of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. While in law school, Derek worked for two years at Indiana University Student Legal Services as a Certified Legal Intern. He also worked for one year as a clerk for an Indianapolis-based personal injury firm.
As a law student, Derek participated in the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition where he was recognized as an Octofinalist and received Oral Advocacy Honors. Also, he won the Maurer School of Law Transactional Drafting Competition and received the Best Seller’s Draft Award.
Derek served as a Notes Editor of the Indiana Journal of Law & Social Equality, one of three law reviews at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He also served as a volunteer and Executive Board Member for the Indiana University Protective Order Project.
Derek is originally from Northville, Michigan, but now enjoys living and starting his career in the Fort Wayne community.
